It was as far back as December of last YEAR when I first discovered KillaGraham through his tune “Drop it”. Quite frankly my jaw… dropped (höhö) because I had never heard of the guy and his production and songwriting was fantastic. Now the tune is being released on Skism’s label “Never Say Die” with a group of other fresh movements including what might be my favourite new tune of his “Clowns”. The track is so original and catchy that you just can’t get it out of your head.

Make sure you pick this EP up on Friday when it’s released!

The self-proclaimed emperor of filth, which is the producer Sluggo, have been making a whole lot of noise with his currently ongoing tour and dropping a rad preview of his upcoming release. And while I was banging my head the other day to the preview of Space Sharks (from the upcoming release), I got contacted by one of his nice promoters offering a chance to interview him. You’ve seriously gotta love life when opportunities come knocking on the door at the right time, right? So without further ado:

Art of Noize: Howdy Mr. Sluggo, I would like to start of this interview with the standard question everyone have first time talking to a person; How are you doing?

Sluggo: I’m doing quite well! How are you doing Sweden?

Art of Noize: We are doing good as well, thanks for asking! So Sluggo, now that we know how you feel, what are you currently up to right now?

Sluggo: Well, at this moment, I’m honestly playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and building motivation for working in the studio.

Art of Noize: I have seen that you have new upcoming EP soon called ‘Engineered to Destroy’, could you please tell us more about it what kind of destruction there is to await from it and when we can anticipate to see available to buy?

Sluggo: My new EP Engineered To Destroy is not just dubstep but also some moombahcore. That’s not all though. There’s a vicious drumstep remix of Space Sharks by Tyler Blue. As of right now, we are still unsure where we want the EP to go out to, but as soon as we get word or when this drops, you will be the first to know!

Preview the EP here

Art of Noize: Then we will be looking forward to hear from you about it!

Something that have been very much visible in the dubstep scene is the amount of hate from fans of the older generations of dubstep versus those who enjoy newly produced dubstep. What are your thoughts about this whole thing?

Sluggo: I feel it doesn’t really matter. I love older dubstep, and I love newer dubstep. It’s kinda like saying you liked a band seven years ago, but now you don’t because they evolved. It’s bound to happen. Just love what you do and listen to what you like. Haters make us famous :)

Art of Noize: We have seen that you’ve done a lot of collaborations (for example with Liquid Stranger, Nerd Rage, Getter and etc.). Which producer/band is your dream to sit down with and produce one or two tunes with, living or not so living?

Sluggo: I love working on songs with other artists. I find it fun, and completely motivating. As far as what bands and producers I would want to work with, any would-be artists that feels what I am doing and wants to jam and see if something comes out of it. However, if I were to choose one, it would be BAR9 out of the UK. I love those guys! Their sound is epic!!!

Art of Noize: I cannot disagree with you on that, they got some really big things done! Speaking of other fine producers; we have noticed also that you’re currently on tour around the states with many big names. We are just wondering if you are coming by Europe any time soon, and even more interesting, can we expect a visit to us in the cold north (Sweden that is)?

Sluggo: Right now my Ultragore Recordings tour is only North America and Australia. There is nothing set up for Europe quite yet. I would love to come out and tour though so spread the word!

Art of Noize: Lastly, besides the upcoming EP, what are your plans for the future?

Sluggo: Wow, there’s a lot going on right now…….First thing is our KillbotT project, it’s coming out on Dim Mak Records in October 2012. It includes myself, Tyler Blue, and frontman Jonathan Davis of Korn. This is huge, so be on the look out. I’m also doing a new EP with Getter for the Bay Area called Mortar. Plus, there’s a metal project from myself, Mantis, Nato Feelz, and an undisclosed singer. So just stay tuned to my Facebook page and my Twitter to get updated!  Thank you Art of Noize!

Art of Noize: No, thank you for taking the time talking to us!

As I woke up this morning with a hungover it eased when I saw that Geometry had released a new remix celebrating the 4000 followers they breached on their Soundcloud page. “Titan” done by Clockwork, which is already one of my favorite tunes this year has been given a transformation by the two French producers and I absolutely love it! If you haven’t heard the original please go listen to it here. The fact that they are giving it away for free is also awesome of course. Get it here and if you like what you hear, go check out their other tracks on Souncloud. Cheers!

I have to admit when I first heard this when it was released about two weeks ago it didn’t hit me. But since I’ve listened to it a few times since then the track has really stuck to me and I really dig the vibe and sound design. I even find that when i slow it down it creates a bit of a different feeling which is also super nice. Remember to listen to it a few times and also to grab it in 320. This track really benefits from good quality in my opinion.

I know that this track have been out for a while but I just had to post it. Nari & Milani have turned one of Tim Berglings most cheesy tracks into an all out crazy dutch house banger. With the added vocals of another swede (Al Fakir) this makes for a perfect set-ender.

As I mentioned in my recent Zeds Dead, Blaster remix post, we’ve got a F.O.O.L remix coming up, and it has now arrived for public ear smashing! This one’s a melodic smasher. Make sure you check it out on Beatport and spread the word since this is a competition. The winner will be releasing this tune on Ultra Records which is a pretty sick promotion, something would love to see happen for these guys!

It seems like truly feel-good EDM tunes don’t come around as often as pure nasty ones. I suppose there’s something more attractive about making right out bangers for the clubs. Also making uplifting stuff is probably more difficult, but Sound Remedy has managed to overcome that difficulty with this remix. It’s both ethereal, uplifting and FREE on top of that. No reason not to download, so go grab it!

I was actually supposed to write about this release yesterday since it was supposed be available by then. But as a lot of producers and labelmanagers know very well off, Beatport can have it’s moments and not work properly all the time. But since it was only delayed by a day, I’ll skip writing more about beatport and jump right into the release.

Svidden, the Swedish genius who have caught attention all around the world from many of the biggest producers in the whole electronic scene with his previous EP Brettafjack, just came out with his second EP on Bonerizing Records: We Are! With this EP, he takes his production skills up a notch (even though we didn’t think it was possible, due to Brettafjack EP was perfection). Both tracks on the EP are flawless and there is nothing more to add than we highly recommend that you buy this like immediantly.

To help clarify why urge you to do so, just listen to the previews and you’ll get the full picture.

After leaving his former group (Street Lurkin) in July 2012, the 21 year old producer Lee Bates set out to work on his solo project MUST DIE!. Since then he has been spitting out all kinds of different tunes but mostly in the genres dubstep and moombahton. And just recently he released a free one called “Bad Boy Sound” that got this reggae vibe to it which I absolutely love. Listen to it! And if you like it go check out the other stuff he has put up on soundcloud. Enjoy!

You might have heard of these guys for their handiness with a pair of decks. That would usually not land you a post on Art of Noize though, but seeing as they’ve got a new album coming up on September 3rd, this had to happen.

To be honest it was their new video for ‘Arcades’ (which will be featured on the album) which caught my attention. First of all I can never say no to a tune which incorporates the harpsichord, so that was enough to get me addicted. On top of that the song (it really is a song and not a track or tune, whether the distinction is imaginary or not) has some beautiful vocal samples and a badass beat. The video is a fairly simple but beautiful concept centered around geometrics, but I’ll let you watch and enjoy it for yourself. No doubt we’ll be updating you when the new album is released!

Update: The Album has been released! Check out the iTunes link below!
